Since
the company’s inception in 1988, Caliber Systems’ core of operations
has always been deep utilities installation.
With up to nine fully equipped pipe crews in operation at one
time, Caliber systems has in its workforce some of the most
experienced people in the industry, particularly when it comes
to the more complex projects. On contracts involving river crossings,
downtown utility work, gas plants, etc., Caliber Systems Inc. has
repeatedly proven that we are the right contractors for the
job.
For
the first ten years of operations, Caliber Systems became
a familiar sight around the older neighbourhoods of Calgary,
engaged in many contracts for the City of Calgary’s annual
Watermain Replacement Program. While we still tackle this
specialized work in existing streets and back lanes, completion
of twelve of these contracts provided a firm foundation for
much of the other work we undertake today. Whether inside
the City of Calgary or in outlying communities such as Canmore,
Banff, Airdrie, Strathmore or High River, our crews can be
seen working on new subdivisions, commercial construction
sites and on upgrades to existing municipal infrastructure
systems.
Our
list of past clients includes the municipalities mentioned
above, numerous private land developers, and many of today’s
leaders of the local heavy construction industry such as PCL
Maxam, Graham Construction and Ellis Don. We have also worked
on fire water systems for oil and gas sites, and count Husky
Oil, Imperial Oil and Nexen Inc. among our past customers.
In
2000, we completed our first major design-build project: the
deep utilities work on 96th Avenue North (also known as Airport
Trail).
The Roadworks, Interchange and Utilities Contract, worth $3,500,000,
was undertaken with general contractor Graham Construction
and Engineering Ltd. With a large fleet of equipment and experienced
staff, Caliber Systems Inc. is ready for your next underground
utilities project. Please call our office to find out how
we can help make your project a success.
